It is a myth that all it takes to write is to sit down in front of a blank page, to begin at the beginning and write through to the end, with no planning, break, editing, or changes in between. And yet, this is sometimes what we ask our students to do. Good writers plan and revise, rearrange and delete text, re-reading and producing multiple drafts before they come up with their finished document.   1. Afeedback should only be provided at the end of the task after students hand in their compositions to be marked.
  2. Bin the writing class teachers should take into account the learners’ purposes for writing, which transcend that of producing texts for teacher evaluation.
  3. Cthe main focus when a writing task is assigned is on the final product.
  4. Dteachers should assign students a writing topic and then collect the finished product for correction without intervening in the writing process itself.
  5. Efocusing on language errors improves grammatical accuracy and writing fluency.
