Sintaxe de frases interrogativas vs. afirmativas

❌ ERRADO. A substituição do ponto de interrogação por um ponto final não é suficiente para transformar a primeira sentença do texto em uma afirmação, pois a estrutura sintática permanece interrogativa. A frase "When it comes to the vocabulary of languages, is it true, as some suppose, that the vocabularies of so-called primitive languages are too small and inadequate to account for the nuances of the physical and social universes of their speakers?" apresenta inversão do sujeito-verbo ("is it true" em vez de "it is true"), característica de perguntas em inglês. Para torná-la uma declaração, seria necessário reordenar os termos, por exemplo: "When it comes to the vocabulary of languages, it is true, as some suppose, that the vocabularies of so-called primitive languages are too small and inadequate...". A mera alteração da pontuação não altera o modo da frase.
