As stated by Corrêa (2025), “The Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC), enacted in 2017, emphasizes the importance of language teaching integrated with the development of cognitive, social, and cultural skills, reinforcing the potential of CLIL as a pedagogical model that promotes more integrated and contextualized learning”. CLIL, or Content and Language Integrated Learning, involves learning content from other school subjects through English as the medium of instruction and communication. All of the following are examples of CLIL practices during English classes in schools, EXCEPT:
- AAs a reading task, the teacher gives students a text about endangered animals in Brazil’s fauna to explore vocabulary and comprehension in English.
- BAs an oral practice task, the teacher encourages students to discuss environmental issues present in their communities and propose possible solutions.
- CAs a writing task, it is asked that students complete sentences either with Simple Past or Present Perfect as a means of enhancing students’ communicative skills.
- DAs a listening task, a short audio about Virginia Woolf’s biography is provided, students should answer questions about it, enhancing listening comprehension skills.
