According to this position statement, it is right to affirm that:- Aan effective language teacher needs skills other than language proficiency in order to function as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages.
- Bqualified ESL/EFL educators should not demonstrate written and oral proficiency in the English language (regardless of native language).
- Cemployment opportunities for non-native teachers of English to speakers of other languages should not be influenced by professional qualifications.
- Dteachers of English to speakers of other languages don´t need training in teaching.
